Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern use of SermonOS, a live-streaming and sermon-media platform provided by Cedar & Stone (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using SermonOS, a church and its authorized users agree to these Terms.

The service

SermonOS lets a church stream and record its own services, manage sermon media, and optionally publish those broadcasts to third-party destinations the church chooses to connect (such as a Facebook Page or YouTube channel). SermonOS acts strictly at the church's direction — we don't decide what gets streamed, when, or where; the church does.

Accounts

A church designates staff accounts (with roles such as church admin or soundbooth operator) and may enable congregant accounts for its own audience. Each person is responsible for keeping their sign-in credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under their account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SermonOS to:

  • Stream, upload, or publish content you don't have the right to distribute.
  • Violate any applicable law, or the terms of any platform SermonOS connects to (including Meta's and YouTube's own terms).
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another church's account, data, or connected platforms.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of SermonOS or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use SermonOS to publish content that is unlawful, infringing, or that another church has not authorized you to distribute on its behalf.

Your content and your responsibility

A church is solely responsible for the content of its own services, recordings, and sermon media, and for having the rights necessary to stream, record, store, and distribute that content — including music, guest speakers, or any third-party material used in a service. SermonOS stores and transmits that content on the church's behalf; we do not review or endorse it.

Connected platforms

When a church connects a Facebook Page or YouTube channel, SermonOS publishes to that destination only when and how the church directs it to — SermonOS never posts, streams, or otherwise acts on a connected account independent of the church's action. The church remains responsible for complying with the connected platform's own terms of service and content policies. A church can disconnect a platform at any time, which immediately revokes SermonOS's stored access to it.

Availability

SermonOS is provided “as is” and “as available.” Live streaming depends on many factors outside our control — a church's own network and hardware, third-party platforms, and general internet conditions — and we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We work to keep SermonOS reliable, but we make no warranty, express or implied, regarding availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cedar & Stone will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, SermonOS — including a missed or interrupted broadcast, lost recordings, or issues with a third-party platform a church has connected. Our total liability for any claim relating to SermonOS is limited to the amount paid by the church for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

A church may stop using SermonOS at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to SermonOS if these Terms are violated, or if we discontinue the service, with reasonable notice where practical. Upon termination, data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as SermonOS evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of SermonOS after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
